The experience of people with neurological conditions


According to the latest estimates, the total number of neurological cases in England has now reached 16.5 million, or an average of 75,000 cases per Clinical Commissioning Group (Neurological Alliance 2019).

The National Neurology Patient experience survey, representing the largest ever survey of people with neurological conditions in England with 10,339 responses, found that people’s experiences remain poor.  The survey, led by the Neurological Alliance found that people with neurological conditions are facing long waiting times, poor access to specialists and a lack of personalised care. It also found their are failings in the social care and welfare system, as well as discrimination in the workplace for people with neurological conditions.
